Do We Really Need a New Vocabulary for Business?

I spend a fair amount of time in rural Kansas and sincerely enjoy spending time with practical and very successful entrepreneurs.  This week, I had a chance to spend time with an accomplished senior individual that had just returned from a business plan competition in the “big city”.  He told me words being enthusiastically announced by the presenters really don’t have the same definition of how he learned them, “pivot”, “scale”, “leverage”, “mass”, and the list went on and on.  The core of his conversation was that he made millions without those words in some pretty dynamic industries, why do we need to add them now?  That’s truly a practical question and maybe something we should apply in our daily lives.  Keep it simple, short and to the point.
